엔젤 하트
1953년, 뉴욕에서 사립 탐정을 하는 해리 엔젤(Harry Angel: 미키 루크 분)은 어느 날 싸이퍼(Louis Cyphte: 로버트 드니로 분)라는 사람으로부터 사건 의뢰를 받는다. 그것은 세계 2차대전 중에 부상으로 식물인간이 되어 12년간 병원 생활을 하다가 얼마 전에 실종된 가수 쟈니 홰버리트를 찾는 일이다. 쟈니의 행방을 찾는 일은 12년간 그가 입원했던 병원부터 된다. 그러나 엔젤이 만난 사람들이 차례차례 시체로 발견되고 쟈니의 행적은 더욱 미묘해진다. 언젠가 엔젤의 손금을 봐준 마가렛의 부친 에드워드 켈리을 만나 그는 믿어지지 않는 사실을 전해 듣는다. 그는 자신의 딸 마가렛(Margaret Krusemark: 샤롯 램플링 분)이 어려서 초능력을 갖고 있는 것을 알게 되자, 당시 이상한 초능력을 가졌다고 전해지는 쟈니라는 사람에게 딸을 소개했다. 쟈니의 초능력은 악마에게 자신의 혼을 주고 샀던 것이다. 나중에 후회한 쟈니는 다른 사람의 혼을 뺏기로 하여 비슷한 나이의 남자를 구했다. 그가 바로 연말 휴가나온 젊은 병사였는데 호텔로 데려다가 의식을 치루었다. 의식이란 병사를 고무판에 벗겨놓고 고대 의식을 치르는 것인데 가슴에 5각별을 그리고 심장을 꺼내 먹는 것이다. 심장이 고동할 동안 쟈니는 그 병사로 살아나 입대한 후 부상을 당해 돌아왔다는 것인데.
