자신의 지나온 과거를 들려주는 여인 박우주(朴牛住). 이름의 뜻을 풀어보면 소처럼 억세게 일하고 순하게 살란 뜻이다. 우주는 고된 일을 전전하며 자라난다. 사람들에게 무시 받고 이용당하는 일상에 적응하는데. 늦은 밤, 홀로 남아 식당 잔업을 하던 중 취객에게 순결을 빼앗기고 울음을 터트리는고, 자신을 겁탈한 사장이 준 돈 3만원을 받고 울음을 그친다. 몸을 주면 돈이 생긴다는 걸 알게 된 우주는, 이후 몸을 이용해 돈을 버는 법을 독학으로 공부하기 시작하는데...
